Ctenanthe – ‘Burle Marx’

A lovely plant for indoors and shady underplanting outdoors, it will grow to 30cm tall but will keep clumping and spreading in width. It has lovely striped leaves with a red/ purple underside, the leaves have a curious habit of folding up at night which gives the plant the nickname of prayer plant. Outdoors it should be grown in moist, well drained soils and in a shady position. Indoors it should be grown near a window in well draining premium potting mix and should be watered regularly.
