FEATURES: Large flowers, popular variety, long flowering period

FOLIAGE: Long and pointed, light green

FLOWER: Dark purple with a pale bar, up to 20cm diameter, spring to autumn

POSITION: Protected from full afternoon summer sun

USES: Obelisk, arches, arbours, patios, fences, cottage and formal gardens

COMMENTS: Pruning group 2, keep the roots of the clematis cool by mulching and shading them by planting smaller shrubs and perennials around the base of the vine.
