Chamedorea seifritzii – Bamboo Palm

FEATURES: The bamboo palm gets its common name from clusters of cane-like stems that are produced from the base of the plant. A great air-purifying plant for indoor spaces and offices, this specimen adds that tropical vibe without the high maintenance care requirements. 

HEIGHT X WIDTH: 1.5- 2.5m x 1.5m 

FOLIAGE: The leaflets are bright green, providing a lush and tropical appearance. The foliage is dense and feathery, creating a soft, elegant canopy. Each frond can reach up to 1 meter in length. 

FLOWER: Small, inconspicuous yellow flowers that are followed by small, black fruits when pollinated. Unlikely to flower indoors.

POSITION: Partial to full shade

USES: Gift for a beginner green thumb, containers, indoor jungle, houseplant for a chronic overwater-er, under planting in shady gardens, terrariums, patios, ornamental plant, Mediterranean gardens, fairy gardens. 

COMMENTS:  ‘Chamai’ meaning ‘on the ground’ and ‘dorea’ meaning ‘gift’. Prefers medium light, slightly moist potting mix and medium relative humidity. This plant will survive in low light conditions. The potting mix must be well-draining.
