Cercis chinensis

A spectacular small multi-stemmed tree, especially when in flower. An excellent feature in small gardens. Prefers a moist, deep well drained position. Avoid hot exposed windy positions.

Height: 3m

Width: 3m

Growth Rate: Slow to moderate

Foliage: Dark green heart shaped leaves.

Flower: Masses of showy, rose-purple, pea-type flowers are produced on bare stems in early to mid spring.

Fruit: Can produce fruit similar to pea pods under ideal conditions. Pods can be persistent on the tree over winter.
