Canna edulis “QLD Arrowroot”

Tropical perennial with swollen starchy rhizomes. Allow rhizomes to develop for a year, before they can be peeled, grated and dried to make arrowroot starch powder.

It will tolerate heat and light frosts, grows around edges of the pond or in shallow water.

Leafy green foliage can grow up to 2m with red flower spikes.
