Bletilla striata – ‘Chinese Ground Orchid’

FEATURES: Tough, unusual garden addition, long lasting cut flower

HEIGHT X WIDTH: 40cm x 30cm 

FOLIAGE: Lanceolate, pleated green

FLOWER: Purple to pink, dainty, spring

POSITION: Part shade

USES: Rockeries, underplanting trees, lining garden paths, planting at the front of garden beds and hedges, pots and containers

COMMENTS: Plant in fertile, well-drained soil, will die back in winter but should not be lifted as looks best when left to grow into a large undisturbed clump.
