Agapanthus hybrid – ‘Black Pantha’

A tough perennial growing to 1m tall and 50cm wide with strappy, green foliage and a clumping growth habit. In summer it produces a cluster of flowers on a long spike. The flowers a a deep purple that can appear almost black.

It is an excellent border, landscaping and general garden plant. It also looks great in pots or planted as a mass display. 

It should be planted in well drained soil and can handle full sun to full shade. If in full shade it may not flower well. It should be cleaned up after flowering by removing the spent flower heads and cleaning up the dead leaves. Every few years it can be lifted and separated into multiple plants, this keeps the plant healthier by allowing air flow and reducing the hiding spaces for pests.
