Acacia baileyana ‘Purpurea’ – ‘Purple Cootamundra Wattle’

A lovely Australian tree growing to 8m tall and 8m wide with attractive, fern-like, purple foliage. In winter it produces masses of fluffy, golden yellow flowers that attract pollinating insects and birds to the garden.

It is a great tree to use as a screen, for shade and as a windbreak. It is also perfect as a specimen tree in the garden where its beautiful foliage and colourful winter display can be appreciated.

It should be grown in full sun and would prefer well drained soils but can handle heavier soils and short periods of water logging. After flowering it should be pruned back to shape.
