A new release extremely narrow growing ornamental pear, the Javelin is a good choice for an area with restricted space and avenue plantings.

Ornamental pears are one of the best trees for Perth gardens tolerating heat and periods of dry. Most varieties also take wet positions and heavy soils as well as variable soil pH, some even do coastal sites. Plant in full sun for best flowering and autumn colour.

Foliage: Dark green glossy leaves emerge purple. Orange-red in autumn.

Flower: White flowers during spring

Bark: Greyish brown becoming lightly furrowed with age

Tolerances: Slightly alkaline soils and intermittently waterlogged areas
