A large fruit with an elongated shape borne on compact thornless canes. Prune out canes that have fruited each year to keep the patch tidy and fruit easily accessible. 

Position: Protected from summer afternoon sun in fertile acidic soils. 

Size & Habit: 2m tall and 2m wide, compact, spreading canes

Flower: White, spring

Fruit: Large, sweet, flavourful, elongated oval shape

Skin: Glossy black, thin skin

Cropping: Early summer

Harvest/Maturity: Can fruit the first growing season

Pollination: Self fertile

Uses: Eating, juice, in salads, preserves, flavouring drinks, baking
