Camellia sasanqua – ‘Little Pearl’

An extremely popular and versatile plant, it can be pruned into a small tree, shrub, espaliered or used as a hedge. Camellias have beautiful flowers and are an excellent addition to any garden. They need acidic soils so should only be added into the ground when you have prepared the soil for them with lots of organic matter. They should be kept moist during summer with regular applications of mulch to keep the roots cool. 

‘Little Pearl’ is a sasanqua variety which is sun and warm weather hardy, with dense growth and smaller leaves. It has double flowers that are white in colour with pink edging on some petals and grows to 8m high and 1.5m wide.
