A striking Globe Artichoke with a deep purple head. It is an outstanding ornamental and edible plant. There is more heart in the edible head than in the green variety. Has a high yield and only 2 or 3 plants are required. 

Position: Full sun in soil improved with organic matter. 

Uses: Considered the best eating variety, uncooked young hearts are delicious raw, sliced thinly and served with olive oil. Excellent cooked and tossed with potatoes, or filled with aioli. Sautee and add to pasta sauce or risotto.
