An easy to grow small shrub with delightful yellow button like flowers and green leaves. Called Jambu in Brazil, or the Toothache Plant. It is a tender perennial but can be grown as an annual in most areas.

Position: Part to full sun in good, well drained soil. 

Uses: A useful herb to have in the garden, it is widely used to treat toothache, throat and gum infections. The name comes from the numbing produced when the leaves and flowers are chewed. It is said to enhance the immune system, improve digestion and help nausea. In Brazil it is used in stews and salads.
