Canna edulis – ‘Edible Water Canna or QLD Arrowroot’

 

Price range: $16.99 through $22.99

FEATURES: Edible rhizome and new shoots, hardy, easy to grow

HEIGHT X WIDTH: 2m x 2m

FOLIAGE: Large, flat, deep green

FLOWER: Red, spring through to autumn

POSITION: Full sun to part shade

USES: Dams, ponds, pots and containers, moist garden beds

COMMENTS: Should be grown on the margins of water bodies with the roots underwater but not the leaves as the plant can not handle the leaves being submerged. This plant can also be grown in the garden in rich soils, but needs to be kept moist.
