A small tree common on creek beds in subtropical rainforest. The rough leaves of the sandpaper fig leaves have been used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm and tinea, sometimes in combination with the milky sap. The milky latex of young shoots was used by Aborigines in the healing of wounds.
