A large tree, pyramidal when young then becoming rounded with age. Suited only to large gardens and acreages. Makes an excellent tree for avenue plantings. Best in full sun.
Growth Rate: Moderate to fast
Foliage: Large dark green shiny ‘maple-like’ lobed leaves becoming yellow-brown during autumn.
Flower: Spiky seed balls are produced.
Bark: Peeling in sections to reveal cream underbark.
Tolerances: Drought tolerant, takes heavy pruning and air pollution as well as most soil types.
