A hardy fast growing ornamental tree, the Empress Tree is a large tree growing up to 25m tall with large green leaves. In spring large pendulous purple blooms are produced before the new leaves, they are appear similar to foxglove flowers and are wonderfully fragrant. They are able to withstand many different types of soils but require full sun to thrive.
