Called Murin Murin in Nyoongar, Maroon Bush is a hardy, dry weather shrub found all over Australia, except Tasmania and Victoria. It was traditionally used for treatment of cancer, heart disease, intestinal conditions, kidney and urinary conditions, and general illness. Leaves, flowers, berries and even roots can be simmered in boiling water and consumed as a tea. Berries can be eaten straight from the bush.
Maroon Bush is a tough evergreen plant suitable for planting in drier areas, however soil improvement and regular water is required while young. Can grow 2 x 1.5m.
