Feijoa sellowiana – ‘Nazematze’

An attractive ornamental tree growing to 5m tall with glossy, green leaves. It produces ornamental flowers with red stamens and pink petals in late spring and early summer. It produces large pear shaped fruit with a delicious sweet pulp. 

It is a great tree to use as an attractive screening tree with the benefit of then producing tasty fruit. It can also be used as a shade tree in the garden too.

It should be planted in a full sun position in fertile, well drained soil,. It should be pruned after fruiting to encourage fruit the next year and it must be watered deeply during the summer months. For best fruiting it should be planted with different varieties of Feijoa to improve pollination.
