Feijoa sellowiana – ‘Nazematze’

Price range: $39.99 through $124.99

Delicious fruit on a useful, hardy small tree. This variety has pear-shaped fruit that resists browning once cut. This is a grafted or cutting-grown plant that will grow true to form. 

Position: Full sun 

Size & Habit: Up to 5m tall and 4m wide but can be maintained as a smaller shrub

Flower: Attractive red stamens and white petals, spring to summer

Fruit: Large, pear-shaped, sweet and flavourful

Skin: Green, wrinkled 

Cropping: Autumn into winter

Harvest/Maturity: Can take 2-3 years to produce fruit

Pollination: Self-fertile but cropping will be improved with cross-pollination

Uses: The delicious fruit can be eaten fresh, preserved or used in dessert recipes, even the skin can be used to make fizzy drinks. The plant itself can also be used as a cropping tree or trimmed and used as a productive hedge.
