Dianthus – ‘Waterloo Sunset’

‘Waterloo Sunset’ has wonderful deep pink/red flowers in spring and autumn that contrast spectacularly against blue green foliage. It is a small plant only reaching 30cm tall and 60cm wide making it a great plant to use for edging, in cottage gardens or as a colourful ground cover. To encourage extra flowers any dead flower stems should be pruned back. Its is quite a drought tolerant plant, only requiring deep watering during extended hot and dry weather. ‘Waterloo Sunset’ requires a position in full sun to part shade in well draining soils to thrive.
