Native to tropical Asia and northern Australia this medium to large thorny deciduous tree has spectacular red flowers during spring.
Growth Rate: Moderate when young then slowing down as the tree matures – faster growing further north in a more tropical climate
Flower: Clusters of elongated bright ed pea-like flowers appear during spring
Foliage: Large leaves divided into three leaflets, mid green in colour. Depending on conditions, the tree may only lose leaves in late winter just before flowering
