Clematis cirrhosa – Lansdowne Gem
Clematis cirrhosa – ‘Lansdowne Gem’
140ml pot shown, plant sizes may vary
An evergreen Clematis, ‘Lansdowne Gem’ has masses of 4-5cm cream nodding flowers with claret red inside, that turn pink with age. Glossy serrated leaves have bronze edges.
Winter flowering, this cheerful Clematis will brighten your garden through the cooler months.
Clematis likes to have its roots in a cool spot in the garden, and its head in the sun – keep the roots cool with mulch or the shade of other plants. Provide a trellis for her to reach her 6m and enjoy the spectacular flowers once the plant has established. C. cirrhosa flowers on old wood, so only give a light tidy up when necessary. Plant into well draining, improved soil – a compost such as Greenlife Soil Co’s General Concentrate will do the trick!
