Chestnuts are large trees growing to 10 – 15m high and up to 10m wide. Can take longer to bear nuts than grafted trees. Nuts are harvested are falling from the tree. Best grown in the Perth hills or in the South West of WA.
Buffalo Queen is a slow open growing tree which fruits early in the season. Nuts fall free from the burr and are easy peeling. Has a large nut size particularly when pruned
