Beautiful specimen tree for smaller gardens. Tolerates a variety of soil types but does best in moist, deep, well-drained fertile soil. Dislikes a wet position. Tolerates some periods of dryness but avoid excessively hot or windy positions. Plant in full sun to part shade.

Foliage: Thick dark green heart shaped leaves turn yellow in autumn.
Flower: Masses of bright mauve-pink pea-like flowers are produced in clusters during early Spring along the bare branches.
