Bottlebrush – Better John

A tough hedging shrub growing to 1.2m tall and 90cm wide with small green leaves. In spring it produces small, red flowers that contrast against the green foliage.

It is a perfect hedging or screening shrub and is also great to grow in low maintenance, native, and waterwise gardens.

It should be planted in well draining soil in a full sun to part shade position. It does not need regular pruning, only to shape. When establishing it should be regularly watered but from then on will be drought tolerant.
