Australian native found in rain forests from southeast NSW to tropical QLD. Small creamy coloured flowers are produced abundantly from October, followed by yellow, ripening to black, edible fruit from February to July. Best eaten when black and soft, ideal for use in jams, jellies and chutneys.
Performs best in morning sun/afternoon shade in a moist soil. Protect from wind. Can reach 4-10 m high by 4-7 m wide, may be pruned or hedged smaller. Fire retardant.
