A versatile annnual herb with a strong aniseed flavour. Anise has attractive feathery green growth with masses of white flowers formed on umbels in the warmer months.
The leaves of Anise can be used in soups, salads, stews and viniagrettes. Seeds are useful in adding an aniseed flavour to biscuits, cakes, stewed fruits and other sweet dishes.
Anise tea is beneficial in aiding digestion.
